Who are we?
The DuPage Center for Spiritual Living (DCSL or the Center) is a member of a global organization called Centers for Spiritual Living with over 500 centers worldwide. Dr. Ernest Holmes founded the organization in the early 20th century. He believed there was a thread of truth running through every great religion and philosophy, and it was his desire to pluck out that thread, leaving behind all superstition, dogma, and religious opinion. He took that thread and created principles called the “Science of Mind,” these are the principles and beliefs we continue to teach and live today.

Beauty, inspiration, love, joy, and peace are around us - everywhere.
Take a minute, anytime, to turn within to calm, focus, and become mindful.
Spirit lights my way to the changes I need. I expand my vision and see the abundance of the Universe pouring forth good favor to me.
Rev. Kathleen Mertes
In the unending circle of life, the perfection of creation is always creating anew and I am one with this creation and newness.
I know that no matter whathappened years ago, months ago, week ago, days ago, and even minutes ago - it has served its purpose and it is done.
With each new day, I am free to choose the thoughts that create my experiences regardless of the things, people, and events that enter my life path today.
I am grateful for the opportunity to make choices about what I will see, hear, think, and feel about everything in the experience of life I have today.
I am excited to approach this day with compassion, forgiveness, and the wonder and awe of the child that is at the core of my being.
I release this into the action of the Law which always acts on that which I send forth from my thoughts. My thoughts are things and I choose good ones.
And so it is ... and so it shall be!

Friend of the Center
There is one Divine Source.
This Source is the center of all that is seen and unseen.
This Source radiates love, peace, and joy in the universe.
This Source is within me.
I radiate love, peace, and joy in my world.
This Source is the creator of all.
I am the creator of the life I live.
I make daily choices to create a magnificent life.
I do this simply by paying attention.
My emotions guide me.
I see clearly when my energies are in alignment with the qualities of God.
This is where I feel ease, joy and enthusiasm.
I See clearly when I strayed from my greater good.
This is when I feel discouraged, frustrated, and diminished hope.
This clarity gives me great power in my life.
I move forward with the creative edge of a painter.
The murky colors in front of me do not fade my joy.
The mistakes of yesterday do not interfere with my greater good.
I simply start anew, wipe my canvas clean, and create from my imagination.
I dream what is possible. The colors are bright and vibrant.
The scene of everything I ever wanted.
I simply trust in the enfoldment and hold true to my dream.
I let go of all my judgment.
I let go of my push to make things happen.
I let go of my fears, pains, and disappointments.
They just keep me painting the same scene on a very worn-out canvas.
I create a new today.
I have a fresh canvas. My life is one of joy and happiness.
Change is an easy and fabulous adventure.
I embrace it with enthusiasm.
I partner with spirit to create the very best in my life.
I allow Spirit to work in me and through me in wondrous ways.
The process is simple. I keep a positive focus and the results are glorious.
For the beauty of my life, I give great thanks.
I rejoice in being a great artist.
I paint my heart's desire.
The picture is inspirational, blessing me and blessing the lives of others.
With a humbled and peaceful heart, I say thank you God, the master painter of all.
And so it is.
